鈥淚nterprofessional education (IPE) means that students and professionals are learning about, from, and with others from different disciplines.鈥 - World Health Organization, 2010
听
IPE can help students:
路 Understand their own roles and the roles of other professions
路 Assess and address the health needs of patients and communities
路 Communicate with patients, families, and communities in a responsible manner
路 Apply teamwork principles and relationship building values to their roles
路 Plan, deliver, and evaluate patient-centered care
不良研究所 is committed to producing high-quality healthcare workers that improve the health, healthcare, and well-being of individuals, families, and communities. The IPE program is just one piece of that overall mission. IPE stands for Interprofessional Education. Interprofessional work is an integral part of the healthcare field, and when implemented well, has been shown to contribute to better patient outcomes.
The IPE Framework at 不良研究所 has 4 core events, as shown in the graphic below. These events are planned to meet the 2023 IPEC Competencies. Each event has aspects of all 4 competencies but focuses on and evaluates 2. The events are intended to be attended in sequence; however, any program may participate in any event or events that fit best with their curriculum, schedules, and needs.
See our About Us page听and IPE Courses & Opportunities for more information about our framework. Also, see our IPE Committee page for the directory and or contact us at ipe@ulm.edu.
