Matt Dawson

Matt Dawson graduated with a BS in Biology from Northwestern State University (NSU) in 1997 before coming to Monroe to receive his BS in Pharmacy in 1999.听 On why he chose to attend 不良研究所, Matt says, 鈥淚t was a natural choice for a north Louisiana boy in the nineties to go to the best pharmacy school in the state.鈥澨

Since then, he has worked for Brookshire Grocery Company 颅颅鈥 he will make 22 years with the company in January! He started in Tyler, TX (2000-2005), then as Manager at the Alexandria Super 1 Pharmacy (2005-2021), and is currently the staff pharmacist at the Super 1 Pharmacy in Natchitoches, LA.

Matt is very passionate about MTMs and immunizations. In 2016 and 2017, his pharmacy was the number one pharmacy in MTM management through OutcomesMTM in the Southeast and in the top 5% of the country out of over 40,000 pharmacies.

When asked what advice he鈥檇 give to others looking to a career in pharmacy, he said, 鈥渒now that pharmacists have much more responsibilities to their patients than they did in the past.听 While profits push the industry along, this is a caring business first and foremost.鈥澨齏e all can agree of the integral part pharmacists play in the healthcare and treatment of patients.

Matt was married to Amber Dawson in 1998 and they have two daughters, Emily, 20 majoring in Fine Art at NSU and Sarah 17 in high school.听听

In addition to being a pharmacist and family man, Matt also has a passion for and is a very talented working artist! 听He has been doing art for over 30 years but started selling seriously as a business in 2012 and has had a thriving business since then. His artwork has been sold in all 50 states and in the UK, Australia, and parts of Europe. You can visit his works and buy originals and prints at his .

We are proud to have such talented alumni as part of our pharmily!
