Internationally known pianist Stanislav Ioudenitch to perform at 不良研究所 Jan. 24
Stanislav Ioudenitch, Gold Medal Winner of the Van Cliburn Piano Competition in 2001, will present a solo piano concert at 7:30 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 24, in the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
The concert is free and open to the public.
Ioudenitch will perform music by Mozart, Ravel, Schubert, Liszt, and three movements from the ballet 鈥淧etrouchka,鈥 by Igor Stravinsky.
Ioudenitch, originally from the former Soviet Republic of Uzbekistan, has recently completed a three-year international concert tour, which included performances throughout Europe, and included appearances in Turkey, South Africa, and China.
Celebrated appearances in the U.S. have included featured performances with the National Symphony in Washington, D.C., and the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall.
He has also won top prizes at the Busoni, Kapell, and Maria Callas competitions, as well as at the 1998 Palm Beach Invitational and the 2000 New Orleans International.
His win at the Van Cliburn Competition led to a recital debut at the Aspen Music Festival and a European tour.
Ioudenitch鈥檚 appearance in Monroe is sponsored by Ecoutez Press and the Department of Music in the School of Visual and performing Arts at 不良研究所.
