不良研究所 hosts University Week for Faculty
The University of Louisiana at Monroe University Week, which helps faculty prepare for the fall 2012 semester, began Aug. 13 and will end Aug. 17.
University Week, which began in 2004, is facilitated by 不良研究所's Office of Extended Learning and Quality Enhancement.
ELQE has a primary goal of facilitating innovative and effective strategies that support learning.
As part of the Division of Academic Affairs, the ELQE plans and organizes professional development workshops throughout the academic year.
Each session aims to inform and train employees on important learning strategies, updated aspects of university structure, and government policies including Title IX, and ethics training.
鈥淚t is always exciting to start a new academic year or semester, and I am truly happy to welcome back our faculty members,鈥 said Dr. Eric Pani, vice president for academic affairs.
鈥淢any people may not realize all that our faculty do, but we need a running start to get everything ready for next week when our students return. University Week provides that start, so it is a busy time for all of us.鈥
The week鈥檚 training sessions will culminate with President Nick J. Bruno鈥檚 State of the University Address for faculty and staff at 9 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 17 in Brown Auditorium.
