不良研究所 accounting students and faculty visit Lamb Weston sweet potato plant

On March 30, 15 students and three faculty members from the University of Louisiana at Monroe Accounting Department visited the Lamb Weston sweet potato processing plant in Delhi to learn about the manufacturing process and process controls.

The plant is unique in its design and has been recognized for its implementation of a green philosophy in the building design and the manufacturing process.

Seeing the steps in manufacturing and then applying the accounting steps helps the information taught in the classrooms to be more meaningful and relevant.

Student attendees were Leigh Ford of Woodville, Miss., Jason Conville of West Monroe, Lacy Bates of Crosby, Texas, Aimee Jackson of West Monroe, Fernando Cordova of Monroe, Aislinn Singh of Monroe, Brittany Winston of Bastrop, Reginald Wallace of Monroe , Morgan Coats of Bastrop , Alicia Rowland of Columbia, Molly Echols of Bastrop, Daniel Greene of West Monroe, Megan Chappell of Lake Providence, Cathi Kendrick of West Monroe, and Suzanne Thompson of West Monroe.

Faculty attendees were Dorothy Davis, associate professor of accounting, Katherine Boswell, assistant professor of accounting, and Patti Roshto, program coordinator of accounting.

Toby Weber of Lamb Weston guided the tour.
