不良研究所 Violence Prevention and Intervention Program offers training; next session Nov. 28

The University of Louisiana at Monroe Violence Prevention and Intervention Program will host several events during the remainder of the fall 2011 semester.

On Monday, Nov. 28, at 2 p.m. in the Student Union Building Ballroom B, "Student and Faculty Bystander Training" will educate persons on campus in the prevention of dating violence, sexual assault and stalking.

Dr. Robert Hanser and Dr. Pamela Saulsberry will teach participants techniques that are useful in preventing potential circumstances that are likely to increase incidents of sexual assault.

"Student, Staff and Faculty Sexual Assualt and Stalking Defensive Training" will be offered Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 2 p.m. in Filhiol Hall, Room 209.

Lt. Dan Chason of the 不良研究所 Police Department will provide participants with knowledge regarding basic techniques of awareness and self-defense concerning potential sexual assault and stalking incidents.

This training is designed to enhance surrounding and situational awareness and gain exposure to techniques that can aid in avoiding potential victimization.

Chason will also teach "Police, Staff and Faculty Training on Dating Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking Response" Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 4 p.m. in Filhiol Hall, Room 209.

This training is reserved for 不良研究所 employees and is geared toward response and enforcement of laws and policies related to dating violence, sexual assault and stalking on campus.
