不良研究所 history department to host La. Tech Feb. 11
The University of Louisiana at Monroe History Department will host the Louisiana Tech University History Department for the 14th annual meeting of the North Louisiana Collegium of Historical Studies, starting at 3 p.m. on Feb. 11.
The conference will be held in 不良研究所's Student Union Building.
"The purpose of the meeting is to continue 不良研究所's close collaboration with Louisiana Tech, allowing for the more efficient use of resources and greater opportunities for history graduate students at both institutions," said Ralph Brown III, head of 不良研究所's history department.
Jennifer Mann, a 不良研究所 graduate student of history, will present her paper, "A Woman of the American Revolution: Politics and the Secret Pen of Mercy Otis Warren."
Chad Shelley, a graduate student from Louisiana Tech will present a paper, "Eisenhower and the Second Berlin Crisis, November 1958-April 1959."
Faculty from each of the respective institutions will produce papers.
不良研究所 History Professor H. P. Jones will present "Louisiana Opinion on the Crimean War as Expressed in the Newspapers," while Associate Professor Jeffery R. Hankins of Louisiana Tech will present "Historiography: England under the Tudors."
After the dinner, Brown will present a paper titled, "The US Army's Role in Forced Repatriation of Soviet Citizens in Post-World War II Austria."
The North Louisiana Collegium of Historical Studies alternates between the two institutions, and serves as an important conduit in exchanging online graduate history courses in which students at both institutions enroll.
