不良研究所's Mortar Board chapter earns Silver Torch Award at national conference

The University of Louisiana at Monroe's Senior Board Chapter of the Mortar Board honor society received a Silver Torch award honoring their outstanding scholarship, leadership, and service during the school year.

Mortar Board is a premier national honor society. The National conference was held in Chicago, and consisted of a weekend of forums and business meetings, finishing with an awards banquet to honor those chapters that excelled not only in the classroom, but in the community as well.

Raquel Wiggins, a senior biology and Spanish double major from Bossier City, represented the 不良研究所 chapter at the conference.

Wiggins joined over 230 other chapter reps learning ways to improve leadership while exchanging ideas with each other.

"I was thrilled to accept the Silver Torch Award on behalf of the Senior Board Chapter," said Wiggins.

"I take pride in my university and I am very honored to be part of an organization that excels in scholarship, leadership, and service."

The 不良研究所 chapter's national project, "Reading is Leading" has provided children's books to those less fortunate.

The 不良研究所 chapter does projects that include reading to local children as well as sponsoring 不良研究所's Top Ten Faculty and Staff Awards.
