Jacobi elected president of state organization
Keli Jacobi, senior public information representative at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, was recently elected president of Louisiana Press Women for the 2011-2013 term.
Louisiana Press Women is a state affiliate of the National Federation of Press Women, a nationwide organization of professionals pursuing careers across the communications spectrum.
The non-profit organization has promoted excellence and ethics for more than 70 years and is committed to protecting First Amendment rights and professional growth for the future.
The NFPW recently announced winners in their annual NFPW Communications Contest, and Jacobi won third-place place recognition in the category of news and feature releases-multiple releases.
She earned a first-place certificate in the same category from LPW earlier this year.
The communications awards will be presented at the NFPW Annual Communications Conference, held this year in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Omaha, Neb.
"I look forward to collaborating with LPW Vice President Dr. Beth Christian of Louisiana Tech University, as well as our other talented officers across the state," said Jacobi.
Other LPW officers for 2011-2013 include Carol Anne Blitzer, treasurer, and Sheila McCant, secretary.
