不良研究所 student earns International Art Fraternity Scholarship
Robert Jones of Monroe, a senior sculpture and graphic design major at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, recently received the Kappa Pi International Honorary Art Fraternity Scholarship.
Jones is the first 不良研究所 winner in the competition in five years.
Winning the scholarship against other national competitors is a great compliment to 不良研究所 and the Division of Art Faculty, according to Associate Professor and Chapter Faculty Advisor Clifford Tresner.
鈥淚t shows the level of scholarship expected of students from our small department, and that 不良研究所 students demonstrate creativity and talent comparable to that of other universities, many with a larger facility and faculty,鈥 he said.
Jones submitted four sculptures and one drawing for consideration. Those pieces will be highlighted in the spring edition of Kappa Pi Fraternity鈥檚 International member magazine 鈥淭he Sketchbook.鈥
Kappa Pi International President Ron Koehler commented that the scholarship committee was 鈥渧ery impressed with the work submitted by Robert Jones."
Jones said, 鈥渋t's always a great feeling to be receive some success in the field you're passionate about. It's even better to have someone who is passionate about your success.鈥
