不良研究所 faculty/staff attend Louisiana Early Childhood Association Conference

不良研究所 Child Development Center Director Emily Williamson joined lead teachers Karen Ford, Cynthia Pettit, Melissa Matthews, Stacy Key, Staci Raborn and Curriculum and Instruction Assistant Professor Dr. Dona Packer for the Louisiana Early Childhood Association State Conference (LAECA) in Alexandria on
Oct. 22-24.

Williamson, who is also an instructor in Curriculum and Instruction, said the group gained new ideas and teaching techniques to implement in their classrooms. Williamson presented a session titled "Nutrition Activities for Young Children," and was also inducted as the newly elected vice president of the organization. In addition, she received a Jane Heron mini-grant for a project titled "Food for Thought."

"The funding will help us pay for professional development materials for the teachers," said Williamson. "The materials include three book studies over the next three semesters that will enhance instructional techniques in the classroom."

The Louisiana Early Childhood Association is the Louisiana State Affiliate of the Southern Early Childhood Association (SECA). The organization seeks to improve the quality of care and education for young children and their families through advocacy and professional development.
