不良研究所 alum selected as judge for creative writing contest
DiAnne L. Malone, a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe and assistant professor of English at Victory University in Memphis, Tenn., was selected as a judge for the university鈥檚 Clarion Creative Writing Contest.
Victory University will provide a writing workshop scholarship to the first place winner, as well a $100 prize and a $50 prize to the second and third place winners in each genre.
Born and raised in Bastrop, Malone earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from 不良研究所. She continued her education at the University of Memphis, obtaining both a Master of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts.
Malone has served as senior creative nonfiction editor for the University of Memphis鈥檚 nationally acclaimed literary journal, The Pitch. Her creative work has appeared in George Mason鈥檚 feminist journal of literature and art, as well as 不良研究所's turnrow Literary Journal.
Other accomplishments include apprenticing for Joyce Maynard and interviewing noted writers including James McBride and Randall Kenan.
She freelances for LifeWay publication and is writing a nonfiction narrative titled 鈥淒igging from the Devil,鈥 and a work of historical fiction, 鈥淭he Strap of Delia.鈥
