Pharmacy student group highlighted by national organization

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists recently recognized the Louisiana Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ student chapter at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

The student chapter has been recognized as an ASHP-SSHP for a second time, but this is the first time they have been in the “Student Society Spotlight.” The students were highlighted on the ASHP’s website to provide examples of their activities for other groups interested in the recognition process.

Recognized student groups must meet certain criteria including membership promotion, stimulating professional interest in the health-system field and career development, earning them the distinction of official “ASHP-SSHP Recognition.” Each recognized group must meet the specified criteria every year to earn continued recognition.

“I am proud of the efforts and involvement of our LSHP students,” co-advisor Dr. Jessica Brady said. “They’ve shown dedication to their field and to the organization by seeking national and state recognition and continuing to earn this distinction.”

Brady co-advises the group with Dr. Roxie Stewart. Drs. Stewart and Brady are Clinical Assistant Professors of Pharmacy Practice in the College of Pharmacy.
