不良研究所 students are 鈥淗ometown Hawks鈥
The Hometown Hawks, a 不良研究所 student organization, recently announced its selection of members.
Hometown Hawks is a volunteer-based service organization for 不良研究所 students where the students themselves act as recruiters at their former high schools.
Though there are no regular meetings, Hometown Hawks members are required to return to their hometown high school to speak to students about 不良研究所. The Office of Recruitment and Admissions also tailgates at local high school football games in September and Hometown Hawk members are also required to attend at those twice.
鈥湶涣佳芯克 students can sometimes connect better with high school students than our own recruiters,鈥 Brooke Taylor, an event planner at 不良研究所 and advisor for the Hometown Hawks, said. 鈥淭hey can tell them about their own experiences here and all the great changes taking place.鈥
Students must have at least a 2.3 GPA and submit an essay to be accepted into the organization.
Sixty-two 不良研究所 students from around Louisiana and surrounding states comprise the Hometown Hawks for the 2009-2010 academic year.
鈥淚 have found that the Hometown Hawks love getting the opportunity to return to their high school and share their experience here at 不良研究所,鈥 Taylor said. 鈥淭his organization is a unique way that we have found to promote 不良研究所.鈥
