不良研究所 College of Arts and Sciences dean featured in beloved Broadway musical
Don鈥檛 miss the opportunity to see scores of talented University of Louisiana at Monroe students and faculty perform the classical musical farce, 鈥淎nything Goes,鈥 in early April.
The show is a production of the School of Visual and Performing Arts, and opens Thursday, April 2, in Brown Auditorium. It features a large 不良研究所 cast, including Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences Jeffrey Cass performing the role of the Captain of the S.S. American.
鈥淚t's been a joy to work with the faculty and students on this production. And this time they allowed me to say something on stage," joked Cass.
Carey Thiels, Will Tatum, Elizabeth Bennett, Freddie Johnson, Justin Hawn, and Ginger Hicks play other major roles in the musical, which features the work of legendary lyricist, Cole Porter.
鈥淎nything Goes,鈥 鈥淏low, Gabriel Blow,鈥 and 鈥淚 Get a Kick Out of You,鈥 are just some of the show-stopping numbers familiar to audiences of this Broadway farcical romp, which has been through numerous revivals since its 1934 debut.
Directed by 不良研究所 theatre faculty member Kyle Zimmerman, with choreography by Robin Stephens of the 不良研究所 dance faculty, the show combines the forces of the Divisions of Music, Theatre and Dance with sets, costumes, and big chorus production numbers with tap dancing, accompanied by a pit band.
Conducting the pit band will be music professor Jason Rinehart. Gregory Bruce of the Theatre Division directs the set designs and lighting, while Geneva Calloway coordinates costumes for the lavish production.
鈥淎nything Goes鈥 will amuse, energize and uplift its audience, so don鈥檛 miss it! General admission tickets are available now for $15 by calling 318-342-1414, but tickets are free to 不良研究所 students, faculty, and staff who reserve them in the VAPA office in the Biedenharn Music Building.
Additional performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4, and again at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, also in Brown Auditorium.
