Sylvester and associates present breast cancer research at several spring professional meetings

不良研究所 College of Pharmacy professor Dr. Paul Sylvester and members of his laboratory have been especially busy educating and presenting at professional gatherings during March, April and May.

On March 17, Sylvester, the Pfizer Endowed Professor of Pharmacology and director of Graduate Students and Research in the COP, was invited to present a research seminar on the anticancer effects of tocotrienols, a rare form of vitamin E, to the faculty and students in the Wayne State University Department of Nutrition and Food Science in Detroit, Mich.

On March 24, Sylvester was invited to present a lecture titled 鈥淎nticancer Mechanism of Action of Tocotrienols鈥 at the Cancer Prevention Grand Rounds at Rowell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, N.Y.

Between April 12-16, Sylvester and members of his laboratory gave three presentations at the annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research in San Diego, Calif.

On May 20, Sylvester was invited to present at a special session on health and nutrition entitled 鈥淭ocotrienols in Health鈥 at the 99th Annual Oil Chemist Society Meeting and Expo in Seattle, Wash.

In July, Sylvester will present several scientific talks related to his and associates鈥 ongoing research on the anticancer effects of tocotrienols to scientists, physicians and other health care professionals in Perth, Australia.
