Anderson to educate in numerous cultural programs during fall semester

Dr. Jeff Anderson, a 不良研究所 assistant professor of history, is determined to educate Louisiana鈥檚 citizens in a variety of historical and cultural topics this fall semester.

He began Tuesday, Aug. 19, with a presentation titled 鈥淐amelot: History and Legend鈥� at the Main Branch of the Ouachita Parish Public Library.

Coming up, he and Georgiann Potts will present a Readings in Literature and Culture program titled 鈥淭he Creole Identity and Experience in Louisiana Literature and History鈥� at the Morehouse Parish Library Sept. 16, 23, and 30 and Oct. 14, 21, and 28. Each RELIC program will meet from 6:30 鈥� 8:30 p.m.

He is further scheduled to appear Sunday, Oct. 12, in a discussion panel he organized titled 鈥淏eyond the Voodoo Doll鈥� at the Southern Historical Association Annual Conference in New Orleans. His discussion will address recent scholarship on Voodoo, hoodoo, and conjure.
