RADT hosts Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technologists annual mid-winter conference

The 不良研究所 department of radiologic technology faculty and students served as hosts for the Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technologists annual Mid-Winter Conference March 2 鈥 3.

Approximately 400 technologists and students from across the state were in attendance for the two-day event held at the Holiday Inn Holidome.

鈥淚 would like to thank the faculty and students of the RADT department for their hard work and perseverance in the planning and execution of the conference,鈥 said Jay Hicks, department head and conference chairman. 鈥淎lso, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to all 不良研究所 members who presented at the conference. It was one of the best due to our amazing faculty.鈥

The 不良研究所 RADT students were heavily involved in the conference. Courtney Armstrong-Philips placed third in the Junior Level Student Bee competition, while Jordan M. Johnson placed second in the Senior Level competition. The LSRT Student Advisory Council, made up of students from all RADT programs within the state, voted juniors Rajan Ghimire and Christopher Black as the vice-chair and chair of the council, respectively. Their duties include serving as a liaison between the state RADT students and the executive board of the LSRT as well as planning student activities and meetings at conference proceedings.

鈥淚 am extremely pleased with the leadership roles these two young men have assumed,鈥 Hicks said. 鈥淭hey will make excellent leaders and will serve as mentors for all student radiographers in the state as well as being groomed for leadership roles within the profession upon graduation. Their dedication and motivation is very admirable.鈥
