Four 不良研究所 students to compete in Miss Louisiana Pageant June 16
Four University of Louisiana at Monroe students will compete in the Miss Louisiana Pageant Saturday, June 16 at the Monroe Civic Center at 8 p.m.
Katherine Putnam, Miss University of Louisiana at Monroe; Erica Durr, Miss City of Roses; Michelle Mayer, Miss Twin Cities; and Andrea Pang, Miss City of Pineville, will participate in interview, talent and onstage question, swimsuit and evening wear proceedings June 13 鈥 15.
Putnam, a junior piano performance major from Oak Grove, will play 鈥淲edding Day at Troldhaugen" by Edvard Grieg on piano in the talent section. Her platform is 鈥淭he Miracle of Music,鈥 and she is the daughter of Byron and Heather Putnam.
Durr, a senior toxicology major from Marthaville, will perform "Porgi, Amor鈥 as her vocal talent. Her platform is 鈥淩aising Awareness for Domestic Abuse and Its Impact on Children.鈥 She is the daughter of David and Tommie Durr.
Mayer, a senior pharmacy major from Monroe, will perform ballet en pointe as her talent. Her platform is 鈥淭ype 2 Diabetes Awareness and Prevention,鈥 and she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Mayer.
Pang, a second-year pharmacy major from Baton Rouge, will play "Hungarian Dance No. 5" on classical piano as her talent. Her platform is 鈥淗ealthy People 2010-Heart Disease Awareness and Prevention.鈥 She is the daughter of Gary and Cynthia Pang.
不良研究所 is providing housing for all of the Miss Louisiana Pageant contestants as they vie for the crown in this preliminary competition to the Miss America Pageant.
