²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù football season begins with a fun-filled Aug. 30 schedule of events

Are YOU ready for some football action? Ninety million households will have the opportunity to tune into the University of Louisiana at Monroe’s football season opener Thursday, Aug. 30, as ESPN 2 showcases the game at 6 p.m. in Malone Stadium.

Before watching the Warhawks take on the University of Tulsa, football fans may also enjoy tailgating in the Grove, and satisfy their seafood craving from 3 – 6 p.m. at the ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù Alumni Association Shrimp Boil. Tickets may be purchased for $15 in advance ($20 at the door) from the Alumni Center at 4400 Bon Aire Dr. or by calling (318) 342-5421.

Partygoers can also attend Ace’s Birthday Bash at 5 p.m. in the Grove, complete with free birthday cake and party favors.

Finally, superfans will have the opportunity to receive limited edition Warhawk footballs signed by ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù’s Super Bowl quarterbacks, Stan Humphries and Bubby Brister, to be given away each quarter. After the game, the whirlwind evening will be finished off with a fireworks spectacular.
