Five favorite faculty members honored Aug. 31

Members of the 不良研究所 chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta, a national honor society, have selected five faculty members who have 鈥渢ruly made a difference鈥 in their lives. President James Cofer will honor them after the third quarter of the Aug. 31 football game at 不良研究所.

The honored faculty members include:

Mark Arant, interim dean of College of Arts and Sciences

Arant is an 鈥渙utstanding, caring, and compassionate teacher who mentors 不良研究所 students with two weekly study sessions without pay,鈥 said student Tracey Quatrevingt, who nominated Arant.


Steve Tolson, psychology instructor

Tolson was nominated by pre-med student Andrew Norwood. Norwood said, 鈥淭olson does his best to make class interesting and he makes sure there are no dull moments in his psychology class.鈥 Tolson has taught at 不良研究所 for 33 years and his passion is health psychology.


Patricia Roshto, accounting program coordinator

Roshto is an 鈥渙utstanding accounting professor and coordinator of the 不良研究所 Accounting Program who encourages, supports and teaches with great care and concern,鈥  according to accounting majors Joel Ramsey and Katie Robinson, who nominated Roshto. They added, 鈥淪he is always smiling and she is there for the students no matter what, and the students know it.鈥 This is the third time she has received the Alpha Lambda Delta favorite professor award.


Debbie Wisenor, assistant professor of clinical laboratory science

Wisenor was nominated by student Victoria Williams who said, "Wisenor is a class act who is a great role model for her students.鈥 Wisenor also serves as the faculty advisor for two organizations on campus and is 不良研究所 Faculty Senate member.


Benny Blaylock, associate dean of Operations, Technology and Assessment in the College of Pharmacy

鈥淏laylock took the time to discuss his career opportunities and the other job possibilities with a toxicology degree from 不良研究所. He is passionate about his guiding his students and his work at 不良研究所,鈥 said pharmacy student Brandon Banks, who nominated Blaylock.


Alpha Lambda Delta encourages superior academic achievement among freshmen and recognizes students who have excelled academically with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Alpha Lambda Delta will honor freshmen who have a minimum ACT score of 24 during the annual Smartie Party at the University House on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 5 p.m.
