Local Artist Competes at Regional Exhibition

Robert G. Ward, professor of painting in the Division of Art at the University of Louisiana at Monroe has had two paintings accepted in competition at a regional art exhibition. "Metamorphic Fate" and "Displacement," two landscape acrylic on canvas paintings will represent the university at the 38th annual Tom Peyton Memorial Arts Festival in Alexandria.

Mid-south artists were eligible to submit up to three recent examples of painting, drawing, sculpture or printmaking in this competition. Little Rock artist Becky Rogers Whitsell was curator for the event.

The Peyton exhibition will be on view at the display space at 2727 Jackson Street in Alexandria through May 2.
