High School Arts Quest Winners Announced

The Division of Art in the School of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Louisiana at Monroe has announced the winners of the Annual Arts Quest, a juried competition for 不良研究所 students held each spring in the Wesley Art Gallery of the Northeast Campus Ministry facility.

University students were eligible to enter up to five works in separate mediums or two works in a single medium in competition. Submissions were juried by 不良研究所 faculty members Robert Ward, Cliff Tresner and Doyle Jeter.

The jury awarded the Best of Show prize to Kathleen Turney of Monroe for her acrylic on canvas painting titled "Shattered Dreams". One-person Exhibition Awards in the Wesley Art Gallery for the forthcoming academic year went to painters Jennifer Clark of Mer Rouge, April Parks of Rayville, Misty Wilkinson of Monroe and Ms. Tumey; photographer Nolan Clark of Mer Rouge; printmaker Zach Sims of Hernando, MS; and Stephanie Smith of forest in drawing.

Honorable Mention Awards were presented to Jon Camp in ceramics, Julian Floyd in painting, Rene Parnell in sculpture, Philip Peyton in Photography and Maria Trigos in drawing.

The exhibition will be on view at the Wesley Art Gallery through April 3. The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
