Band Information:
Multi-platinum and GRAMMY Award winning band, Jars of Clay, won another GRAMMY recently during "The 45th Annual GRAMMY Awards" held Feb. 23, 2003. Receiving the award from the Recording Academy for "Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album" for its fourth and critically acclaimed 2002 release, The Eleventh Hour, this achievement marks the band's third consecutive GRAMMY. The band also garnered its first American Music Award nomination recently in the Contemporary Inspirational Category. Jars of Clay's self-produced and critically acclaimed cd, The Eleventh Hour (March 2002), produced two No.1 singles "I Need You" and "Fly" and has been covered by several national media outlets including the CBS Early Show, CNN's "Music on the Road" and "Headline News." Jars is set to release its fifth project, Furthermore- From The Studio: From The Stage, on Feb. 4. Jars has 15 No. 1 singles to its credit. The Jars' 1995 self-titled album, with sales of 1.8 million copies, is the biggest selling debut pop album in the history of Christian contemporary music. In addition, that album contains the crossover hit "Flood," which reached Billboard magazine's "Hot 100" top 40 and was also a top-10 alternative rock song. While the rock band is undeniably Christian, Jars of Clay prefers to play - not preach - their message.
Known for its impressive grassroots following, largely comprised of devoted college-age fans nation wide, Caedmon's Call's first national self-titled release set a record for the most units sold in its first week out by a debut contemporary Christian artist and was ranked No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Album Chart. Since then, the band has amassed a stream of accolades, including an Album of the Year Dove Award, a Billboard Music Video Award nomination, six No. 1 radio singles, and sales approaching one million units. In the Company of Angels, the group's last album and debut worship project, garnered a 2002 Dove Award nomination for Praise and Worship Album of the Year, as well as a nod for best Recorded Music Packaging. Caedmon's Call will release its fifth label project, Back Home, on Feb. 4.
