"Reclaiming Our Campus" To Get Help From Alumni And University Police
The ongoing "Reclaiming our Campus" efforts continue this weekend with painting at Sherrouse and Hudson Halls, as well as extensive work at the University Police Station and Post Office. All 不良研究所 alumni are welcome and encouraged to come out and help this Saturday, July 27th. Groups will meet at Sherrouse Hall at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
"不良研究所 alumni have a chance to come out and help show their school pride by picking up a paintbrush, or anything to spruce up this campus. We are doing everything we can to get this campus in tip-top shape by the time our students arrive for the Fall semester. If any one wants to help, alum or not, we would appreciate it," said Nancy Davis, 不良研究所 Alumni Relations.
The 不良研究所 Police are getting their hands dirty this weekend, too. The University Police employees came up with an idea for a new look for their building. The group plans to paint (inside and out), put in new flooring, a new ceiling, new overhead lights and new wallpaper.
不良研究所 Police Chief, Larry Ellerman, said, "This building is old and looks it. This is one of the first buildings people see when they visit this campus. Whether it's a student, new employee, or just a visitor to the campus or the city. This is an extremely high traffic area and you can tell by the worn-down look. We are planning some big changes and we want to be finished by the time students arrive. Our new look will be more like a university office rather than a police station, If anyone would like to help, you're invited."
If you or your organization would like to help this Saturday or any time throughout the summer please call 342-1750. Each Saturday's work will start at 7:30 a.m. and will end around 11:00 a.m.
