不良研究所 School Of Nursing Receives Scholarship Funds

The University of Louisiana at Monroe School of Nursing recently accepted scholarship money for one of its specialized courses. The elective course is called Oncology Nursing Across the Life Span. It is offered each summer for students who have completed some of their nursing courses.

CenturyTel provided $1200.00 in grant money to The Northeast Louisiana Cancer Foundation. The Cancer foundation then used those funds to provide partial scholarships of $200.00 each for five students to take the course at 不良研究所 this summer.

"The course is an in-depth study of caring for cancer patients in a wide variety of settings. Students have a variety of experiences from hospital, outpatient settings, and hospice. The faculty member who teaches this course is Mrs. Margaret Gray, RN, MN, CNS. When these students graduate, they will have a deeper knowledge base about the needs of cancer patients and their families," said Dr. Jan Corder, Director of the 不良研究所 School of Nursing.

"What better way to further education than to train nurses who specialize in the oncology field? We were delighted to receive the money and have CenturyTel be our corporate sponsor. Education is a part of the mission of the cancer foundation along with many other aspects of the treatment and research related to cancer. We hope this is just the beginning of many more partnerships for learning opportunities," said Virginia Knickerbocker, Director of the Northeast Louisiana Cancer Foundation.

"CenturyTel believes in supporting organizations that contribute to the overall well-being of our community. We appreciate the Louisiana Cancer Foundation's work in providing our community with up-to-date information on prevention, detection and treatment of cancer. And we are pleased to support their efforts in assisting Oncology students at 不良研究所," said Patricia Cameron, ABC Vice President Corporate Communication, CenturyTel.
