不良研究所 flying Tomahawks to compete at conference
不良研究所's precision flight team, the Flying Tomahawks, will be competing in the Regional Intercollegiate Safety Conference April 4-6 in Waco Texas. Members of the team have been practicing since the fall for the ground and flight events, and will be competing against schools in Louisiana , Mississippi and Texas.
The flight team is composed primarily of aviation majors and members of 不良研究所's aviation fraternity, Alpha Eta Rho. It is open to all students interested in aviation and does not require a pilot' s license to participate. To be eligible for the team, members are required to practice regularly with the team and take a knowledge test.
Team members are Garrett Bagwell, Laura Blouin, Christin Fagan, Courtney Fontenot, Glen Gilmore, James LeBlanc, David Leigh, Megan McLellan, Phillip Rhodes, Shane Roberts, and Brannon Williams.
For the flying events, pilots will compete in precision landing events, cross country flight, and message drop. The emphasis is on safety in all events. Ground events include airplane recognition, pre-flight inspection, simulator flight, and cross country planning. The top four teams will compete in the national competition in May in Columbus, Ohio.
