不良研究所 forecasters best in the nation for 2nd time this academic year
The 不良研究所 Atmospheric Science Program forecasting team has placed first in the nation in the National Collegiate Weather Forecasting Contest for the second time this academic year.
不良研究所 placed first for Mobile, AL, at the beginning of the contest last fall and recently won for the two-week period from January 15-25, 2001, for Dulles Airport, VA. The 不良研究所 team is now third overall among 18 universities after seven periods and ranked ahead of schools such as Penn State, Texas A&M and Florida State.
In the Dulles competition, three 不良研究所 participants won in their respective divisions. Overall 不良研究所 forecasters have won seven individual awards this year. Dr. Lynn LeBlanc has won two, for Nashville and Dulles. Patty Watts won for Dulles as did Jessica Stroupe. Derek Deroche finished first in his division for Nashville, as did Blake Michaeleski for Riverton, WY, and Lee Robertson for Mobile, AL.
After seven periods, 11 不良研究所 forecasters are in the top 100 out of 910 total participants.
