4th Annual Arts Alliance Juried Art Exhibition Winners Announced

The Department of Art at the University of Louisiana at Monroe has announced the winners of the 4th Annual Arts Alliance Juried Art Exhibition.

Currently enrolled 不良研究所 students were eligible to submit in competition three recent works in any medium created in University studio classes. Entries were juried and prizes awarded by the 不良研究所 studio art faculty.

Receiving the Gretchen Dean Best in Show Cash Award was Sarah Davidson of Monroe, a sophomore painting major in the 不良研究所 Department of Art. Her winning entry was a figurative acrylic on canvas easel painting titled "Kalima and the Seven Sisters". A Second Place Cash Award went to Rebecca Kuzma for "Claybed", a black raven stoneware ceramic nonobjective relief sculpture.

Two Gretchen Dean Cash Awards of Merit were presented to Amy Dupree for an untitled landscape color photograph, and Nicole Moulder for a figurative acrylic on canvas painting titled "Self". A Ouachita River Art Guild Cash Award of Merit was given to Kevin O' Neal for a computer generated architectonic triptych titled "House".

Honorable Mention Awards with Gift Certificates donated by Imagemax went to Crystal Cardenas, in sculpture; Jamie Chennault, in photography; Julie Floyd, in prints; Brett Hart, in photography; Jeremy Polk, in painting; and Misty Wilkinson, in photography.

The Viewer's Choice Award, selected by gallery-goers at the Opening Reception was received by Julie Floyd.

This exhibition will be on view through May 2. The Bry Art Gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
