不良研究所 sponsoring Region VIII Teen Institute "2000"
The University of Louisiana at Monroe's Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education and Human Development is co-sponsoring a Region VIII Substance Abuse Prevention program July 26-29. The program is co-sponsored with the State of Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals' Office for Addictive Disorders.
The program is designed to empower young people to resist alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) use. It further empowers them to take an active role in preventing ATOD use among their peers.
As part of the program, high school students in grades 9-11 will have an opportunity to stay one week, free of charge, on the 不良研究所 campus. In a classroom-style setting, they will learn about ways to stand up to peer pressure and feel good about themselves in the process. In addition to the organized learning experience, there will be many extracurricular activities at the Teen Institute. Among these activities will be basketball, volleyball, bowling, dancing, arts and crafts, music, creative step, learning to create a newsletter, and more.
District Attorney Jerry Jones and his staff, Mayor Melvin Rambin, Mrs. Gloria Monroe, Regional Administrator, President Lawson L. Swearingen, Jr., and other members of the 不良研究所 administration will be in attendance.
