不良研究所, National Faculty to anounce partnership at Thursday reception

The University of Louisiana at Monroe will host a reception for The National Faculty, Thursday at noon in the Conference Center of the University Library. At the reception, 不良研究所 will announce a strategic educational partnership with The National Faculty, an organization dedicated to teaching reform.

The National Faculty "works for the academic and civic development of teachers and students through ongoing, innovative collaborations with schools, higher education, communities and funding partners." The National Faculty is an Atlanta-based nonprofit organization dedicated to education reform through long-term professional development programs for public school teachers.

Each National Faculty program focuses on specific needs identified by a team of teachers in a particular district or group of districts. In each setting, teachers work with National Faculty scholars and with each other in a wide variety of instructional modes.

The National Faculty has a membership of over 500 university faculty members and over 1,600 K-12 teachers.

Currently, the Monroe office of The National Faculty administers professional development programs in science, reading, and mathematics for teachers in a number of parishes in northeast Louisiana. The Executive Director of the office is Ms. Brenda Grover.

Speaking at the reception will be Dr. Robert J. Baird, President of The National Faculty. Baird has worked in a broad range of capacities during his nine years at The National Faculty, serving as senior vice president prior to becoming president. He has an extensive first-hand knowledge of all aspects of The National Faculty: its programs; its scholars; its teachers and schools it serves; and the foundations, corporations and government agencies from which it draws its support.
