29th Annual High School Art Exhibition at Bry Gallery through March 18

不良研究所 School of Visual and Performing Arts presents the 29th Annual High School Junior/Senior Juried Art Exhibition through March 18 at Bry Art Gallery. Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., and Friday 8-11:30 a.m. Admission is free, and the public is welcome to view the exhibition.听

Northeast Louisiana high school art students submitted artworks from their studio endeavors to the competition. High schools represented include Neville, Ouachita Christian, Ouachita Parish, Richwood, Saline, Sterlington, West Monroe, Weston, West Ouachita, and Wossman.听

The exhibition received more than 140 works. A panel of 不良研究所 art faculty judged these entries based on creativity and mastery of the chosen medium. Fifty-six entries were selected and are on exhibit.听

Winners were announced on Feb. 24. Various cash awards, talent grants, and scholarships were given to deserving students.

  • Megan Calhoun 鈥 Beverly Jean Marvin Award for 鈥淲ondrous Fantasies,鈥 Prismacolor

  • Harlee Johnson 鈥 Beverly Jean Marvin Award for 鈥淎 Pig鈥檚 Feast,鈥 mixed media

  • Katelyn Wells 鈥 Noble Photography Award and Arts Council of Northeast Louisiana Award for Creativity for 鈥淪unset Through Glass,鈥 digital photograph

  • Callan Thornton 鈥 不良研究所 Foundation Award of Merit for 鈥淔resher than Expected,鈥 soft pastel

  • Angel Williams 鈥 不良研究所 Foundation Award of Merit for 鈥淗usky鈥檚 Gaze,鈥 charcoal

  • Madison Irvin 鈥 不良研究所 Foundation Award of Merit for 鈥淚rvin,鈥 Prismacolor

  • Madison DiCarlo 鈥 Talent Grant Award for 鈥淟a Vie En Rose,鈥 acrylic (NFS)

  • Callan Thornton 鈥 Arts Council of Northeast Louisiana Award for Artistic Skill for 鈥淭ercia de Muerte,鈥 oil paint on wood

  • Tottainee Marshall 鈥 People鈥檚 Choice Award for 鈥淭he Picture,鈥 charcoal
