stance against the threat of COVID-19. Some building hours and student services have
been updated to further protect our campus community. See below for information regarding
updated building hours, student services, additional support for our students, and
communication guidelines.Ìý Thank you for your efforts and patience during this very trying time.Ìý I realize
you are being bombarded with information on this pandemic; however, I am committed
to providing you the latest information about our university’s efforts.Ìý I have also
urged the vice presidents and deans to do the same with their respective divisions
and colleges.Ìý
Building Hours
• ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù Post Office:
- Monday - Thursday: 10:00am - 3:00pm
- Friday: Ìý10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
- Pick-up and delivery service is not available at this time. Please take your mail
and pick up your mail directly from the post office.ÌýAll packages will be delivered by carriers to the post office also.
• University Library Computer Lab:
- Monday - Thursday: 7:30am - 5:00pm
- Friday: 7:30am - 4:30pm
- Effective Friday, March 27 at 4:30pm, the ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù Library will be closed until further
notice.Ìý
• Student Success Center Computer Lab:
- Effective, Saturday, March 28, the Student Success Center computer lab will be open
daily Monday-Sunday 1:00pm - 5:00pm.
- Student Success Center Computer Lab hours are contingent upon demand.Ìý
Student Services
²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù has moved most student services online.
- ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù Information Technology is prepared to help with online learning and technology
resources. VisitÌýÌýfor more information.
- The Write Place is taking virtual appointments.ÌýStudents canÌýÌýto sign up.
- ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù Career Center is taking virtual appointments for career counseling.ÌýClick hereÌýfor Career Center information.
- The Student Success Center is conducting virtual tutoring and supplemental instruction
through Zoom. UseÌýthis linkÌýto make a tutoring appointment. Virtual advising is available through email or Zoom.
- The ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù Food Pantry is open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 12:00pm – 3:00pm in the
Activity Center. Students can knock on the door or call 318-342-5305 to enter.
ÌýAdditional support offered to students
- Housing and meal plan reimbursement: Students will be able to check out of university
housing now through Sunday, March 29th. They will receive a 25 percent refund of housing
andÌýup toÌý 25% for meals from this Spring semester’s cost if they check out properly and
turn in their keys during this period of time.Ìý
- Students that are currently on the first/full term payment plan will have their final
payment date extended to May 5, so they have an additional month to complete transactions.
Communication guidelines
- When searching for information, we ask that all students, faculty, staff, and others
in our community refer only to official University communications (ulm.edu/coronavirus,
the official University social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), not
departmental social media platforms.
- We ask that campus-affiliated social media accounts share content from our University
accounts in order to spread correctÌýand consistentÌýinformation about our University’s response.
- The Office of Academic Affairs has been and will continue to be in touch with deans
as we discuss our response to this changing situation.
- All media inquiries should be forwarded to Kelsey Bohl (bohl@ulm.edu) and Hope Young (hyoung@ulm.edu).
- If you receive specific questions regarding novel coronavirus and the steps the University
is taking, forward those questions toÌýomc@ulm.edu.ÌýÌýUniversity Communications will route the question to the rightÌýagency/person, and we will respond as quickly as we can. Do note that in these types of situations,
it may take some time to respond.Ìý
