The performance is part of the School of Visual and Performing Arts Faculty Artist Concert Series and is free and open to the public.
Boldin, who plays the horn, will perform several听works by 20th and 21st-century composers.
"I really enjoy finding and exploring new music," says Boldin, "and just because a work is new doesn't mean it can't be accessible and beautiful."听
Marks will also be performing a variety of works from the 20th and 21st centuries, including the Louisiana premiere of David Wilborn鈥檚 鈥淐oncertino鈥 for trombone and piano.
Concerning this work, Marks says, 鈥淲hile most pieces show the trombone鈥檚 virtuosity in the upper register, this new composition by Mr. Wilborn highlights the trombone鈥檚 capabilities in the lower register. It鈥檚 a real treat for a recital program.鈥澨
In addition to their recital at 不良研究所, Boldin and Marks will perform and present master
classes at the University of Kentucky and Ohio University.
