о online graduate history program ranked no. 4

MONROE, La. — о’s online master’s program in history was ranked no. 4 in CollegeValuesOnline.com’s list of “Top 16 Value Colleges” for an online master’s in history for 2016-17.

The ranking was based on tuition rates, customization options, research and internship opportunities, innovative programs and the 20-year return on investment (ROI), calculated from data provided by PayScale.com. A comparison of data concluded that о is one of the best value online programs.

Other schools that made the list include University of Memphis (#6), University of North Alabama (#9), Indiana State University (#10), Liberty University (#14), and Western Kentucky University (#15).

“This new ranking shows how competitive and what a great value an eо degree is,” said Dr. Monica Bontty, graduate coordinator of о’s history program.

о is well known for its low cost and high quality education. However, being recognized on a national level for its affordability enforces the growth in the online history program that о continues to experience.

The online history program gives the student valuable knowledge that can be applied to law, politics, and citizenship.

Graduate history programs typically contain history core classes as well as classes covering the specifics of student’s chosen specialty. Curriculum that is common for an online master’s degree in history are: historical methods, comparative history, historical theory, research methods, and many others.

Students with a bachelor’s degree in a subject other than history can still enroll in the graduate-level history program.
