鈥淲e are very happy that we continue to have a good relationship with Delta and that our students find opportunities at both institutions to achieve tremendous goals and transform their lives,鈥 said 不良研究所 Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Eric Pani.
The agreement includes a host of opportunities for students from each institution to use library resources, use campus parking, attend campus activities, and have easier access to campus services.
鈥淒elta serves a major role in us satisfying our mission, and that is to help us prepare those students for 不良研究所 and senior level careers, while also preparing students for technical jobs that are in high demand in this area,鈥 said Bruno. 鈥淒r. Hanson has been an amazing partner and friend since her arrival. We have had many discussions on how we can expand higher education in this region and Louisiana, and these types of agreements will help us do that.鈥

The agreement highlights eight factors:
鈥 Students who are cross enrolled at Delta and 不良研究所 will abide by both Student Code of Conduct Policies (不良研究所 and Delta).
鈥 Delta agrees to allow 不良研究所 students, faculty, and staff access to its library facilities.
鈥 不良研究所 agrees to allow Delta students, faculty, and staff access to its library facilities.
鈥 不良研究所 agrees to provide access for Delta students, faculty, and staff to events and activities held on the 不良研究所 campus that are available to members of the campus community. Events and/or activities requiring a membership (e.g. Activity Center) or ticket purchase (e.g., athletic, artistic, and/or speakers) will be available at the same price as those extended to 不良研究所 students, faculty, and staff unless that price is reduced as a result of 不良研究所 student-assessed fees. 不良研究所 faculty, staff, and students will have priority to purchase tickets for any event where limited space and/or seats are available.
鈥 Both institutions agree to honor current parking decals on both campuses.
鈥 Both institutions agree to work closely to resolve issues related to financial aid that will arise as a result of cross enrollment.
鈥 Both institutions agree to closely monitor cross-enrolled students to ensure that no student exceeds the maximum number of hours.
鈥 Both institutions agree to work closely to ensure that no student ineligible for enrollment at one institution will be able to enroll at the other, except as permitted by the University of Louisiana System Bylaws and Rules, Part Two, Chapter II, Section IV-C4.
鈥淲e need to embrace these partnerships now and do everything we can to bring as many of the students in their system to 不良研究所, because when we do that, we all win,鈥 said Bruno.
The term of the contract begins immediately, and ends on June 30, 2017.
鈥淭his agreement further solidifies Delta Community College and 不良研究所鈥檚 commitment to serving students and sharing resources to enhance the educational experience,鈥 said Hanson. 鈥淲e each have our respective missions to serve, but together we are serving the greater good for this community. We look forward to further articulations, and will continue to move our society and our constituents forward to a level where they can think about higher education as a possibility.鈥
Last week, the two institutions signed an agreement to strengthen enrollment in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) related majors by allowing students pursuing an Associate of Science in Degree in biological science at Delta to transfer those credits toward earning the four-year Bachelor of Science Degree in medical laboratory science at 不良研究所.
