Growth of small businesses has been identified as a key source for future job creation.
In support of developing small businesses in the Northeastern Louisiana region, the
Louisiana Small Business Development Center at University of Louisiana at Monroe (LSBDC
at 不良研究所) will host a training seminar from 8-11 a.m., on Tuesday, July 8, at the Anna
Gray Noe Alumni Center, located at 4400 Bon Aire Drive, in Monroe.
There is no cost to attend either seminar, but space is limited and pre-registration

The seminar, 鈥淧ositioning, Planning & Profiting: A Life Cycle Approach to M/WBE Business
Growth,鈥� will help minority and women-owned businesses identify where they fit in
the business life cycle from start-up to becoming a publicly traded company and then
identify important resources to support their growth at each phase.
The Mid-South Minority Business Council Continuum (The MMBC Continuum) will conduct
the seminars.
The MMBC Continuum is an economic development agency in Memphis, Tenn., that developed
a successful model focused on the growth of scalable minority and women-owned businesses
with the capacity to meet the procurement needs of major corporations and impact job
creation.
The seminars will introduce minority and women business owners to characteristics
and the mindset necessary to position them for growth, while providing best practices
that can help identify and determine how to leverage their existing strategy to grow
to the next level by either enhancing or reengineering their approach to business.
The MMBC Continuum has formed a strategic partnership with LSBDC at 不良研究所, which is
the result of an investment made by the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) to support
their initiative to impact the growth of minority and women-owned businesses in the
DRA footprint.
The Delta Regional Authority is a federal-state partnership that is congressionally
mandated to help create jobs, build communities and improve lives in the 252 counties
and parishes of the Delta.
