Approximately 250 radiologic technologists and student technologists attended the two-day seminar, which consisted of business meetings, continuing education meetings, and student competitions.
Meeting chair Jennifer Michael of 不良研究所鈥檚 Department of Radiologic Technology, coordinated the meeting鈥檚 events and speaker arrangements.
鈥淭he conference went great and there was tremendous support from all of the faculty and students here at 不良研究所,鈥 said Michael. 鈥淭he speakers were well informed and covered a variety of pertinent topics during each of the lectures. Many thanks to all those involved.鈥
Students attended general education and review lectures, as well as the LSRT Student Advisory Council meeting, student bee competitions, and student social event.
Radiologic technology junior Skyler Ferrell of Mer Rouge was elected Chair of the LSRT Student Advisory Council, and junior Kristyn Newman of Winnsboro was elected Vice Chair of the LSRT Student Advisory Council.
In the state student bee competition, junior Nicole Payton of Monroe placed first in the junior division, and senior聽Tracy Mulhearn of West Monroe placed third in the senior division.聽
Several 不良研究所 faculty members presented lectures at the seminar. Speakers included, Andy Allen from the Department of Radiologic Technology, who presented 鈥淩eview of Patient Care;鈥 LSRT Chairman of the Board Brett Bennett from the Department of Radiologic Technology, who presented 鈥淓quipment Maintenance and Operation;鈥 Patti Calk, associate director of the School of Health Professions, who presented 鈥淐ommon Disorders: Functional Impairments and Precautions;鈥 and Lacy Davis from the Department of Radiologic Technology who presented 鈥淔rom Myth to Medicine.鈥
Judith Hughes from the School of Nursing presented 鈥淭herapeutic Communication,鈥 and Amy Kincannon from the School of Nursing presented 鈥淗ealthcare Associated Infections.鈥
